Publisher of Home Business Magazine Throws Hat in Ring for Local Office

Richard Henderson, publisher of Home Business Magazine and director of parent company United Marketing and Research Co., Inc., is making a run for City Council in Lakeville, Minnesota. He has a background in local small business, technology and military service (he is a Retired U.S Navy Captain), that he believes offer unique skills that will benefit his city of Lakeville. Richard humorously notes that having raised 5 daughters with his wife Stacy, he’s learned to be sensitive and a consensus-builder!

Ready for the Challenge

Candidate Richard Henderson notes a big challenge for Lakeville. It is growing to be one of the dominant cities in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, metro area. He believes that his strategic background will help the city make this transition in a way that maintains the “small town” flavor loved by the community.  He also notes his background in homeland security will help to keep Lakeville resilient against the ongoing pandemic.

Mainstream Candidate

Richard Henderson is a “mainstream” candidate who supports keeping local government accountable, transparent, and tolerant – where everyone’s voice is heard! He holds “common sense” positions on the issues, with no hidden agendas. Richard sums up that he will work to keep Lakeville family-friendly, business-friendly, smartly governed, and safe.

Keeping Lakeville Government-Friendly

One area of concern for Richard Henderson is his shock at the increased polarization that gridlocks so many state and national governments. So he will have an extra focus on keeping Lakeville government friendly, where one strives to find something beneficial in a viewpoint they disagree with. Just like he did in the military!

As a sailor, Richard likes to sum up with a twist to a Navy saying, “Let’s get Lakeville Underway!”
