She has overcome hurdles, tragedy and challenges to go on to be a self-made successful entrepreneur. Now she will add to her list of accolades when she is honored as the “Mexican American Opportunity Foundation Woman of the Year” for 2016. Tina Aldatz is an American success story that just keeps getting better. She will be honored and featured as the keynote speaker at the National Latina Women’s Conference, held on May 13, 2016 in Montebello, Calif.

“I am so honored to be given this award,” explains Tina Aldatz, chief executive officer of travel wellness company Savvy Travelers. “I’ve worked very hard to get where I am and I strive to be a leader. This is a true honor that I am grateful for, and I look forward to speaking at the conference.”

The MAOF National Latina Women’s Conference is in its 37th year and will be held at the Quiet Cannon Conference & Event Center, located at 901 Via San Clemente in Montebello. Scheduled to take place from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Tina will begin her keynote at 9:00 a.m., which will be followed by a series of one-hour workshops. She will officially be honored at 1:00 p.m. at the conference, which is expected to have around 1,100 people in attendance.

Aldatz hit the ground running a decade ago with Foot Petals, filling a gap in the market for women’s high-heeled foot support, and hitting the Inc. 500 as one of the “500 fastest growing companies in America.” However, as a business woman who keeps on her toes, she has since sold Foot Petals, sat on the boards of many non-profits, produced a movie, written a book titled “From Stilettos To The Stock Exchange,” and launched Savvy Travelers, a designer cosmetic wipes wellness line.

Bestowing the honor is the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF), headquartered in Montebello, Calif. Founded in 1963, the nonprofit organization serves disadvantaged individuals and families in the Los Angeles area. They are the largest Latino-oriented family services organization in the country.

“One of the things we do is seek out those Mexican-Americans who are setting a great example,” added Martin Castro, the president and chief executive officer of the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF). “Tina Aldatz is a prime example of what hard work, dedication, and drive can do for you. She’s a wonderful example of a Mexican American success story and we are excited to honor her this year.”

General registration for the conference is $50, luncheon and registration is $100, and student registration is $10. For more information on the conference or to register for it, visit the site at: http://www.maof.org.
