We are constantly buying new technology and devices these days. Most people tend to replace their phones after two years and purchase new laptops when their old ones are dying. By the time we purchase new devices, our old ones often feel ancient and worthless. The tech industry moves at an exponential rate, and it is near impossible to keep up.
However, your old devices are not worthless at all. They could be worth selling or donating to someone else. The Royal Society of Chemistry found that there are a whopping 40 million unused gadgets in our homes. 45 per cent of Brits hoard up to five unused devices in their homes for no good reason. Most of us have an old iPhone or laptop hiding in the back of the cupboard.
Here are a few things you can do with those old devices instead of hoarding them.
Donate It to Someone
You can donate your old phone to a friend, colleague, or family member. They might have recently smashed their phone or dropped it in the sink by accident. They can use your old phone until it is time for their next upgrade. Some people cannot afford to purchase a brand new phone and will greatly appreciate your old device.
Trade It In
You can trade-in your iPhone 12 mini to numerous places. These places will often value it and give you money for the device or a discount voucher for the store. Either way, you can use the money for your next device and make the most out of the old device.
Sell It
Sell your old gadgets on a tech-buying website to earn some extra cash. You can look up your device to see how much it is worth at different sites. You can either drop the device off at a store or send it to the website via post. Please note that the condition of your device will affect its value.
Give It to Charity
You can donate old tech to charities like WeeeCharity. They will collect your devices for free and resell them to raise money for community projects. If you do not want to sell your devices, giving them to a charity is a fantastic alternative. You can help the local area and make sure your old tech items are going to good use.
Do not leave your old devices in the back of your wardrobe. Donate, sell, or recycle them instead.
