Taking on large-scale EDM event production is no simple endeavor, but the pros at Sound In Motion in Minneapolis prove every weekend that they can handle anything. On Saturday, they hosted the much-anticipated Minneapolis leg of dubstep DJ Excision’s Apex 2019 Tour (featuring The Paradox) at The Armory. Like their last show at The Armory, it attracted a sold-out crowd and was a magical night for Twin Cities bass music lovers.

EDM enthusiasts rushed to get coveted tickets to see Excision perform, because his shows are truly magnificent, otherworldly experiences. In addition to his über-popular bass-heavy sound, Excision’s tour featured a jaw-dropping Paradox production setup filled with ingenious visuals and glorious laser shows that left attendees completely mesmerized. Throughout his thrilling set, the visuals synced up perfectly with all of the bass drops and beats, which really enhanced the whole experience for everyone.

The pre-performers also did a fantastic job of pumping up the crowd before Excision’s set. Show-goers were treated to phenomenal performances by Bro Safari (a popular DJ from Atlanta), UK happy hardcore DJ Gammer, SQUNTO, and Virtual Riot, a German Dj specializing in future bass, future garage, and electro house. These eclectic DJs all dominated the turntables and brought their own unique sound into the show.

Sound In Motion did a top-notch job in promoting the show and orchestrating it from start to finish. Everyone was in the venue in no time, the production setups were enchanting, and the sound levels were crisp. This show was yet another success for Sound In Motion and they have more coming up, such as Arty at REV on Feb. 23, Above & Beyond at The Amory on March 30, and Borgeous at REV on April 27. If you live in the Twin Cities, check out these shows to see what goes into producing a successful event.
