Starting a new business can feel overwhelming. With all the advice in the online space, it can be tricky knowing which tips to apply to your business – if any at all. Develop a launch strategy. Grow your social media presence. Develop content that converts. But what do you focus on first, and how do you know what to prioritize?
If you’re a new business owner, create a system that allows you to nurture your audience. Posting on social media isn’t enough; there should be some follow up especially given the online space can get noisy. This means you have to find different ways to stay connected to your audience in order to establish a better rapport with them.
A sales funnel is the journey that takes a customer from discovering you to buying from you. Here are five simple steps to help you build a successful sales funnel to help grow your community and your new business.
Target Audience
Stary by identifying your target audience and understanding where they are in their journey. What are their pain points and desires? What is the end goal they’re seeking? What transformation are they looking for? From here, you can start brainstorming content ideas.
Email List
But before you hit post, you’ll need to set up your email list for customers who discover you through your content. Email marketing platforms such as Flodesk, Klaviyo, and ConvertKit can help you set up your email flow.
Free Resource
Next, create a valuable lead-magnet or free resource. What valuable information can you provide to your audience that offers instant insight or transformation? This is your opportunity to serve before you sell.
Content Creation
Once you have that in place, you can move on to content creation. This can be anything from social media content, to blog posts, to podcast interviews, to word-of-mouth advertising. This is where you’re going to create relatable, valuable content with consistent messaging to attract your desired audience. Create a content calendar to brainstorm ideas and maintain consistency. The more you make yourself visible, the more opportunities you have to fill your sales funnel for your new business with qualified buyers.
Ask for the Sale
Lastly, ask for the sale. Don’t assume that everyone who comes across your content knows what you offer. You have the solution to someone’s need, so make regular announcements to promote your product or service.
