For foundations striving to bring positive change to the world, it is essential to throw highly publicized events to help get the word out about their causes. One fantastic way to generate buzz is by hosting red carpet themed nights and inviting local media. Tower Cancer Research Foundation did just that over the weekend at their 3rd annual Ante Up for a Cancer Free Generation Poker Tournament and Casino Night. Held at the Riviera 31 at the Sofitel Hotel Beverly Hills, the event attracted the likes of rock legend Gene Simmons, actor Mekhi Phifer, supermodel Joanna Krupa, and more.

At the posh soiree, hoards of entertainment stars and Hollywood socialites bet big to support Tower Cancer Research Foundation’s talented cancer researchers. Entertainment Tonight host Samantha Harris, a breast cancer survivor herself, was also honored with the inaugural Cancer Free Generation (CFG) Mission Award. CFG is the young leadership division of Tower Cancer Research Foundation that seeks to identify visionary doctors, innovative medical professionals, and researchers and help them discover and implement new techniques to overcome cancer.

The event was a shining success in supporting CFG’s efforts to help young people and their families who have been impacted by cancer, so that they may approach life with renewed strength and optimism. The party promoted CFG’s goal to help ensure that the next generation becomes the first cancer-free generation. The star attendees also loved learning about CFG’s executive committee, which consists of young professionals working in many diverse fields, such as finance, law, real estate, entertainment, and medicine. Many members of CFG’s leadership are, themselves, young cancer survivors.

The casino night also featured a silent auction, luxury raffle, and tasty hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. Top prizes from the affair included a seat in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event, January 2017 in the Bahamas, a 5-Night Stay at the Trump Hotel Waikiki Hawaii, and a 3-Night Stay for Two at the Hilton Los Cabos. In the silent auction, attendees could also win fantastic prizes like VIP tickets for two for a future taping of The Ellen Degeneres Show!

If you’re managing the PR and/or marketing efforts for a non-profit, putting on a star-studded party like the Ante Up for a Cancer Free Generation Poker Tournament and Casino Night is guaranteed to create buzz about your cause. Select a theme, invite and confirm celebrities, and enlist the help of local media personnel to publicize the cause. You will generate an influx of mass awareness and support for your organization’s efforts.
