It’s been known for many years, decades even, that scientists and engineers have dreamed of and worked hard to create machines/computers with human-like sensories and the ability to make decisions.

AI is already being used in several different industries, reducing human error in tasks where accuracy is crucial. AI is even a game-changer in implementing employee engagement in the workplace to increase productivity and boost morale. However, as many benefits that AI has brought, it has stirred up some controversy in its advancements.

At one point in time, there was a controversial scare about “The Rise of the Robots,” where it was believed that robots would soon put millions of people’s job security at risk… Think back to the movie, I, Robot… that’s the world people imagined and it raised panic all over the world.

Once everyone calmed down, they were able to see that AI wasn’t this robotic monster here to take over the world, they were able to see just how the “beyond its years” techonology is playing a significant role in how we live our everyday lives. CNBC reported from Bill Gates that “AI can be our friend,” stating that the world will be able to do more with less labor.

One area of business that AI is making a name for itself in is content marketing. Typically, people think AI is something that’s only used in the tech and medical industry but oh no… AI is making a major mark on the world of content marketing.

What Exactly Is Artificial Intelligence?

To simply explain it, AI is an area of computer science where machines and computers are built to think, work, and react like humans do.

How Does AI and Content Marketing Work Together?

Whether you’re a content marketer or business owner, just imagine all the time it takes to implement various content marketing activities and projects. Everything from testing landing pages and coming up with blog post topics to going over analytics and automating content… all those things are very time-consuming but very necessary in order to drive traffic to a website… somebody has to do it, right?

Now, take all those tasks listed above, and imagine handing all of it over to a machine who could perform all those tasks in half the time it would take an entire team to do… That would make your job so much easier… your primary task would pretty much be to oversee rather than create.

This is the connection between AI and content marketing. There are actually lots of AI solutions that companies are using now that are allowing marketers to make better use of their time in driving business performance. But the role of AI, as it pertains to content marketing, is pretty diverse.

Not only can it make the content creation process go much faster but it also helps digital marketers better understand the immense amount of information on the internet and take more effective measures in personalizing advertising. Take a look at just how AI is making its mark in the world of content marketing.

1. AI Is Improving Personalization

Because we live in such a digital world, the idea of personalization is becoming a dead art, so to say. In-person interactions and hand-written letters were the only forms of personalizing interactions with customers but now, AI is slowly bringing the seemingly dead artform back to life.

Things like specific landing pages and customized personal emails are ways that AI are helping businesses personalize various marketing efforts. With AI, in relation to personalization, where it plays the biggest role is in its ability to decode customer variables.

Things like the customer’s shopping and browsing behaviors, location, and even their birthday, all help to create personalized content that will speak directly to each and every customer.

2. AI Is Automating Content

Again, whether you’re a marketer or business owner, writing a blog post takes time because you, of course, want the content to be of good quality. Unfortunately, you don’t have that kind of time to dedicate to writing. You’ll be able to save time and money with AI’s ability to curate and distribute content. Here is an AI topic research tool which finds semantic topics using a keyword, which will help you create compelling content.

Now, to be fair, it is important to understand that in order for AI to be utilized properly, it requires accurate data and structure. Meaning that it can’t just produce free-flowing content on a whim… that’s going to require a human writer… And believe it or not, human writers have brains that work pretty well for content creation.

All jokes aside, that just goes to show you that the whole “Rise of the Robots” scare wasn’t going to last long simply because humans are needed for lots of things, whether it’s for creative writing, messaging webmasters, or manual guest post services, there are certain human touches that AI can’t replicate. But the things that AI can replicate, it sure makes the jobs of humans much easier!

3. AI Is Improving Predictive Analytics

In a nutshell, predictive analytics is data analytics that makes predictions about future data outcomes based on data from the past. If you have a solid customer-base and you know what they like, you can provide them with new content based on their needs and interests from the past. AI is able to analyze that information and find patterns within it to create a content model based on those findings.

“AI Can Be Your Friend”

Bill Gates made it very clear that AI can not only be your friend but it can make your work-life much easier when used correctly. So there’s no need to fear technology but learn to work with it. Of course, there are certain areas and sectors where human nature just can’t be mimicked by AI but ultimately, AI is here to help, not take over the world. If you can adapt and adjust, you’ll see how much it can help your business as well.
