Sundance Film Festival 2018 Preview: The Top Brand Marketing Activations & Events of Weekend 1

Sundance Film Festival always features countless must-see films, but just as awe-worthy are the many brand marketing initiatives that occur. Each year, both nationally-renowned brands and startups connect themselves to the prestige of Sundance by sponsoring film premiere after parties, gift lounges for A-listers, and other activations. This year’s festival already has many fabulous brand marketing events in the works!

Home Business Magazine will be on the scene at Sundance 2018 Weekend 1 to get an inside look at some of the top branding initiatives and events of the festival’s first leg. From film premiere after parties to panels and lounges for industry influencers, there will be many thrilling events for all the Sundance movers and shakers to attend. Below is just a sampling of what is on the roster for Sundance 2018:

AT&T and DIRECTV put on spectacular activations at Sundance 2017, and this year they are returning to Park City in an even bigger and better way. In addition to putting on the DIRECTV Lodge presented by AT&T, they are hosting film premiere parties, a pop up dining experience by Los Angeles restaurant Craig’s, and viewing parties for the Sunday NFL football games. DIRECTV Lodge will also put on The Variety Studio presented by AT&T, which will feature interviews with stars.

Just like last year, Canon will also host a Sundance 2018 daytime lounge to allow tastemakers to get a firsthand look at their latest equipment. They will also host panel discussions for filmmakers, “magic hours” with drinks, apps, and networking, and an evening cocktail party for the industry’s most influential thought leaders. The Canon events always provide endless opportunities for film industry innovators to misangle and discuss future projects to partner on.

ChefDance always reigns as the top event that everyone wants a coveted ticket to. Each year, ChefDance unites the nation’s most awarded chefs with the top films for the most prestigious culinary event one could experience. For Sundance 2018, ChefDance partnered with SYSCO, Kona Bear, Diet Coke, One Hope Wine, Lamborghini and The Art of Elysium as the official charity. It is undoubtedly the ultimate must-attend food event of the entire film festival.

All of the big name film stars also love attending the renowned EcoLuxe Lounge celebrity retreat, which will take place at the Blue Iguana on Main Street. Orchestrated by Hollywood’s top celebrity marketing guru and luxury lounge producer, Debbie Durkin, EcoLuxe always provides a relaxed atmosphere for the entertainment industry’s top stars, influencers, film makers, and Sundance socialites to relax, enjoy tasty eats, and meet must-have brand sponsors.

SundanceTV, the official television partner of the film festival, will also host riveting events all weekend at the renowned Sundance TV HQ. One of their top events will be the 2018 Sundance Film Festival Official Kickoff” Party, hosted by none other than Sundance Film Festival creator Robert Redford. SundanceTV will also host a “Hap and Leonard” themed live action puzzle escape room and The Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s Women Breaking Barriers Panel discussing pioneering women in Hollywood.

The Creative Coalition, the premier nonprofit, nonpartisan 501 (c)(3) social and public advocacy organization of the arts and entertainment community, will also have a major presence at Sundance 2018. They are hosting the Spotlight Initiative Gala Dinner to Light Up Park City and invite-only luncheons to allow film industry influencers and top actors/actresses to mingle and discuss future projects. Founded in 1989 by prominent members of the creative community, The Creative Coalition is dedicated to educating, mobilizing, and activating its members on issues of public importance.
