Halloween time is always filled with spooktacular festivals and other opportunities for businesses to connect with consumers. Just over the weekend, one Halloween marketing event brought thousands of millennials to downtown Minneapolis for a ghoulishly grand time: Zombie Pub Crawl 2017. Featuring stellar music acts, the event brought massive foot traffic to Minneapolis establishments and raised brand awareness for sponsors.
At Zombie Pub Crawl 2017, zombified partyers were treated to live performances by Third Eye Blind, Tech N9ne, T-Pain, Jillionaire of Major Lazer, and more. The event also featured an appearance by none other than the actor who played Jason in the first Friday the 13th! Although it rained, massive hordes of bloodthirsty undead of were ecstatic to celebrate the 13th year of the world’s first and largest festival of zombies.
Alcohol brands and downtown Minneapolis bars and food joints jumped on the opportunity to connect with the swarms of zombies invading the city. Schell’s Brewing provided a hefty stock of “Brain Belt” beer for purchase at the drink tents, which also featured sponsors like Bushmills whiskey, Mike’s Harder, Jose Cuervo, and Three Olives vodka. Ragstock clothing company also experienced a flood of consumers, as they sold wristbands to the event.
The participating bars and restaurants included Monarch Minneapolis, Music Hall Mpls, Fine Line Music Cafe, Brother’s Bar & Grill, Clockwerks Brewing, Aqua, The 508 Bar & Restaurant, Gluek’s, and Pizza Lucé. They were all within walking distance of either the “Terminus” Stage or the “Sanctuary” Stage, so they were the perfect establishments for zombies to stop by and party at in between the music acts.
On top of all these features, Zombie Pub Crawl attendees could also take part in a ZPC Costume Contest for prizes, a “Karaoke of the Dead”, and “Dragged To Hell” (a Flip Phone event of dance + drag) starring Tatianna of Ru Paul’s Drag Race All Stars. Metal music lovers were also treated to “The Metal Stage” with Morticia and Fret Rattles. In all, Zombie Pub Crawl 2017 proved to be both the perfect Halloween marketing event for Twin Cities companies and an exciting, must-attend celebration for all local millennials.
