Seasoned Cookery School has a history of organising the most fantastic community cookery days for schools, sports teams, work teams and other community groups. They are so excited that they are about to turn 10 in 2020 that they want to give away ten days throughout the year. If you have a group of people within your company who would love to experience the fun and stories of the kitchen, you can nominate your company and wait to see if you win.

This is your chance to win a free experience for 12 to 18 people to experience a cookery school. Working together, the group can learn how to create the most delicious meals together. When the food is cooked and the camaraderie of the shared learning finishes, your team can eat together and top off the day with a communal meal. There can be no better way to firm up bonds between people than eating food prepared together like a family.

Their cookery day giveaway will give you the chance to create a day that is designed for your group. Seasoned Cookery School prides itself on creating bespoke experiences for your team.

Design your day for your group

They have designed many such days for groups. They can work together with you to create something that builds the skills and qualities in your team members that can grow your company.

You could encourage competitiveness between inter-team groups and run a Bake-Off style day. They have run these days for primary and secondary students who experience a masterclass with a Bake-Off finalist. Nothing emphasises more the need for essential soft skills such as communication, collaboration and compromise than the need to produce food under the pressure of time and judgement.

Maybe you want something a little more friendly. The day enjoyed by injured service personnel and their partners helped to ease some of the intense stress. There was no pressure to the day. It was an opportunity to spend time with people who are experiencing a similar situation to each other and offer community support for the future.

Alternatively, you might want to promote a winning mentality by encouraging knowledge of healthy eating. Food intake is a great way to manage physical wellbeing. The British Swimming team brought a group to learn how to cook in a way that supported training. However, you could promote an understanding of food that manages stress levels.

It is as good as it sounds

The day is entirely free. Your only commitment is to recruit your team of 12 to 18 people. Once the group has got themselves to the venue, there is no cost. All your ingredients and equipment will be provided for you — along with anything needed to create your perfect day.

You may wonder what is in it for them. Well, they are excited. They are 10. They want to give away gifts to celebrate. They also know that your team will love the day so much that they will go away and speak about it. The power of word of mouth testimonials is priceless. You may even want to mark your experience by sharing the day on your website or in your newsletter.

Let them know if you need some photographs to help recruit your team of cookers. They suspect you will end up with a waiting list.

The details

Your day can be booked midweek at a time that suits you. You can bring along between 12 and 18 people — and it is up to you to recruit these people. Your only other commitment is to travel to and from the site — which is located in the grounds of the Catton Estate. You will find them close to the M1, M6 and A50.
