Creating a beauty blog can be a fun hobby for those of us who enjoy everything about staying beautiful. It’s not always as easy as 1,2,3, but starting a beauty blog doesn’t have to be as hard as you think it is.

If you’re looking to make your mark on the internet but don’t know how, we’ve included some information that can help you get started on your journey.

Come Up with a Name/Niche

Obviously the first thing that you’ll need to do prior to starting a beauty blog is coming up with a name, but you also want to find a niche that you’re going to fulfill. When you’re thinking of names you should pick something that pertains to the topic at hand, but is still unique. As for niches, you can decide to pick something that falls under hair care, makeup and anything you think you’ll be able to fill effectively. The experts at Mirifica Science strongly advise that you don’t go wandering about niches that are not all familiar to you. Stick to what you know and then enhance it by gaining more knowledge yourself. This way people won’t doubt you or your blog as being a trustworthy blog is what you want. Coming up with a good name and niche can seem like the hardest part, but don’t overthink it. Keeping a simple name means that people are going to be able to find you easier.

Hosting Your Site

After coming up with a name and a niche, you’ll have to find a web hosting service that you can start your site from. Most bloggers use WordPress as a hosting service, because of its ease of use, and the themes that they offer. WordPress tends to be the most popular platform for people to launch and maintain their sites. There are many sites that offer the ability to purchase a domain so you can own it and host it. Try to keep the domain name and the title of the blog as similar as possible.

Keep in the Know

After setting up your hosting service and domain, you’re going to want to generate content for your site. You can include informative posts on beauty product information or makeup and other tutorials, but try to stay as relevant as possible. Find out what people are currently interested in and what’s popular and try to stay on top of it. You’ll want to pair this with providing unique content on makeup, or beauty products that people can’t find elsewhere.

Create Video Content

It seems like everyone is posting content about beauty on YouTube, and maybe you don’t want to seem like a sheep. However, creating video content gives you another avenue with which to access a larger audience. Make sure it pertains to your beauty niche and you’ll attract a following who’s generally interested in the information that you provide. You’ll want to make sure your website can direct readers to your video channel and vice versa in order to optimize growth.

Have a Broad Online Presence

Having your own site might feel like a large step in developing an online presence (and it is), but you also want to have a presence on social media too. If you’re making an Instagram account, try to pick popular hashtags, but not so popular that you’re going to get lost in the crowd. This is a hard medium to hit, but you’ll most likely find the sweet spot through trial and error. Try and pick two or three social media platforms to produce the most content for, this way you still have a broad presence but you’re not thinning yourself out. You’ll be able to reach people who are looking for beauty content, but won’t feel stressed having to update your website, Facebook, and Instagram accounts all at once.

Stay Motivated!

Don’t expect to have tens of thousands of unique visitors within the first few months, even reaching a thousand can be a milestone. There are many people who are producing beauty content, but if you stay vigilant you’ll be able to make your presence known among the crowd. Just keep yourself motivated and find ways to appreciate the small victories, learn from trial and error what is entertaining, and make sure you’re always having some fun with your blog!

Setting up your website can be the most daunting task initially, I’d recommend looking up tutorials on how to do this effectively. There are some programs that can make this task easier too, and you can look into those and see if they’d work for you. Come up with a plan prior to starting your blog on what kind of content you want to develop and for whom. You’ll be more likely to keep a loyal audience if you focus on one or two demographics at first. You might even want to consider setting up an email newsletter subscription option for your site’s visitors as well. Just make sure you stay motivated and you’ll be able to set up your own beauty blog where you can express everything you want!
