Venisha Arnold Helps Young Minds Prepare for Tomorrow

Venisha Arnold

As the self-motivated founder of Persistence is the Key!, an education-focused non-profit organization, Venisha Arnold laid the foundation stone for a revolutionary initiative that specializes in providing long-term mentorship to high school students until they achieve their education goals.

Let’s unfold the success story of Venisha Arnold, an attorney and philanthropist from Texas, who nurtured a profound determination to make a difference in people’s lives.

JOURNEY FROM ESPN TO PRACTICING LAW

Brought up in a typical Texan family, young Venisha is a wearer of many hats. Boasting a degree in Journalism, she has spent nearly a couple of years in the media industry working for ESPN, CBS Radio, and Fox Sports Net to name a few. While Venisha enjoyed working as a journalist, she wanted to achieve more without opting for the traditional route taken by most reporters.

With an eternal spirit to make a difference in people’s lives, Venisha headed on to pursue her career and attended the same school where her late father obtained his law degree, Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Today, after years of legal practice, she is a proud attorney residing in Houston, Texas where her law practice focuses on litigation.

THE IDEA OF ‘PERSISTENCE IS THE KEY’

After speaking to a group of young high school students about the importance of education, Venisha was left awe-struck when observing the students’ eagerness to learn. While the students were asking her a surplus of questions, she realized that these kids were in dire need of consistent long-term mentorship, and that’s what paved the way for Persistence is The Key!

Today, Persistence is the Key! stands tall as an education-focused, non-profit organization that aims to provide long-term mentorship to high school students.

The organization links these young individuals with mentors who assist them in overcoming mental roadblocks and obstacles. The mentor also stays in contact with the students’ academic success even after they finish high school.

In an exclusive interview, Venisha said, “Three students approached me one day and told me that I inspired them to go to law school. One student told me he was very concerned about his reading comprehension skills and he thought that would stop him from getting into law school. I informed him, if he persisted and acquired a tutor an/or mentor to help improve his reading skills, he could definitely attend law school. Persistence is The Key! mentors will be here for the long haul to make sure students such as this young man succeed academically.”

NON-PROFIT FROM HOME

Thanks to the flexibility of working from home, Venisha could invest her time and donations into creating an organization that gives back to the community. Persistence is the Key! plans to expand to a workspace where the youth can be fed educational leadership and create wonderful success stories for years to come.

LONG-TERM MENTORSHIP: VENISHA’S MISSION 2020

While she is still preoccupied promoting Persistence is the Key! via social media and speaking engagements, Venisha also plans to provide grants to other education-focused non-profit organizations that share similar objectives as Persistence is The Key!
