Dale Noelle is a three-time cancer survivor, entrepreneur, mother, wife, health coach, teacher, philanthropist and an inspiration to models everywhere. Unlike some of the modeling agencies out there who take the bliss of modeling and turn it into an unattainable brand that breeds negativity, Noelle took TRUE and built it from the bottom up with positivity, hard work and integrity. She turned her trials and tribulations into a business.

TRUE Model Management was originally intended for her personal modeling career but after other models caught wind of the refreshing morals that built the business, they hopped on board; eventually TRUE expanded into a full-service management company. One of the many things that makes TRUE stand out is Dale personally coaches and helps her models meet their nutritional needs and goals. After surviving anorexia nervosa, Noelle became a certified health coach and takes the health of her models as seriously as she does her own.

Tips & Tricks

If you’re feeling inspired and hope to someday work for a modeling managing company like TRUE, these helpful tips should give you an idea of what it takes.

1. Be Healthy

Getting your 8 hours in, maintaining a balanced diet and exercise do wonders not only for your heath but your appearance. Bask in the beautiful healthy glow from all the above and you won’t be able to help but ooze confidence.

2. Maintain your appearance

Modeling can mean upkeeping a high-maintenance beauty regime. You’ll want to focus on hair, skin, teeth, etc. As a model, you act as a canvas for the brand you’re working with so it’s important to uphold a polished look.

3. Match your modeling goals to your body type

  • A Plus-Sized Model: If your body is full and curvaceous, you may be able to be a plus size model.
  • A Runway Model: Most women on the catwalk are at least 5’8 and commonly small-breasted. Men are mostly between 5’11 and 6’2.
  • A Print Model: Most editorial female models are at least 5’7, but a beautiful face with great personality are the most important features for print models.
  • An Underwear Model: For women, this requires large breasts but small hips. For men, this requires broad shoulders but slim waists.
  • An Alternative Model: Some agencies hire alternative models: models who do not conform to the industry “standards” of beauty, height, and weight. Additionally, having a specific passion or cause that you’re working towards can help open doors that may be closed due based on a body feature that does not “fit industry standards”.[4]
  • Other Types of Modeling: If you don’t fit any of the face or body descriptions, perhaps you can be a foot, hair, or hand model.” Bullet points courtesy of: http://www.wikihow.com/Become-a-Model

4. Promote yourself using Instagram

A platform like Instagram is now one of the most useful tools to becoming a model in the 21st century.

Becoming an Instagram model reaps plenty of money-making benefits and business opportunities:

  1. Earn money by becoming an influencer modelling different brands’ clothing
  2. Get noticed by modelling agencies — they scour Instagram for the best models on a frequent basis

Generally, modelling Instagram influencers have a minimum of 5,000 followers (micro-influencer) and the bigger accounts have 50,000+ followers (macro-influencer).

Some may see gaining this number of followers as a big hurdle, but it isn’t too difficult to grow your account.

Some ways to grow your account to become an Instagram model include:

  1. Posting regular content of you showing off your latest fashion nuances with high-quality 1080p or 4K photos
  2. Focusing on targeting the right hashtags (#fashion #instagrammodel #modelling #photooftheday — just to list a few)
  3. Use a tool like AiGrow which will help you gain real followers by targeting hashtags, categories, locations, and more.

Remember, Instagram is the way forward to becoming a model now and there is plenty of monetary opportunity on this social network!
