Entrepreneurs Bring Joy to the World with Their Dogfluencer, ClydeTheBully

Clyde: He’s A “Good Boy!”

Native New Yorker Melissa Molomo, is a self-styled author of two “Say What’s Real” self-help books full of inspiration and commentary on everyday life and all the angst that comes with it. Melissa has independently sold 8,000+ copies and has amassed an incredibly strong fan base via social media platforms. With a background in the music business, Melissa learned the values of intense dedication to an art form while previously working as an A&R executive with hip-hop and R&B musician/producer Ryan Leslie. One day, Clyde, a rare XL purple tri American Bully dog came into Melissa’s life.

She quickly realized along with her boyfriend Michael, that Clyde’s goofy grin and antics had a loyal fan base on social media, and people wanted to see more. He amassed a large amount Instagram followers and a growing cadre of fans on YouTube and Facebook within a year. Clyde is now signed with a top agency, works with brands, and is very press friendly.

Yes, he is particularly pretty and beyond photogenic. Yes, he is super intelligent and knows almost as many commands, it would seem, as many attentive fifth graders might know. But most importantly, he is downright lovable, which brings us to the real reason behind this story, “I want this to be an unconditional love story,” Molomo said.

The key to unraveling that story lies in the word Bully, because Melissa and Michael’s crusade represents their firm belief, well documented now with Clyde’s many social media appearances, that American Bullies, despite their tough appearance and their bad boy reputations, can be among the most adorable, humorous and lovable animals out there with whom you would care to share your family home.

While many might think American Bullies, are menacing dogs they are really not the schoolyard bullies they are reputed to be, the couple says. They are sweet, playful, loyal and smart. And at least one of them is a rollover comedian – a very, funny, endearing pet. “It has everything to do with how a dog is raised, trained, and loved, not the breed, specifically,” Melissa points out. “We got Clyde from Kings and Queens Bullies, and they take extra care in properly nurturing the puppies and their dog parents.”

It took some attention and a camera to prove themselves right. Although some might think, oh no, Clyde is on a raw-food diet…Won’t that cause aggression? The answer is no. Clyde was fed by hand when he was a pup and his owners later put their hands right inside his bowl while he ate. The result: Clyde now eats like a slightly overweight hippie on Earth Day.

His owners, it turns out, are self-defined entrepreneurs making a go of it in the dot bang economy, seeking angles to get their message across and put Clyde’s smiling mug and website (Bulliesandco.com) out there for all the world to see.

When the couple tried to buy a collar chain for Clyde, they found some costing as much as $200. They immediately saw a need for an affordable, yet luxurious collar on the market. Michael and Melissa designed his own collar, contacted a manufacturer and ordered a few hundred. They priced their chains out for the average household and those, too, sold out. Don’t worry, the chains are now back in stock and available for purchase on Clyde’s website.

And the audience, it seems, can’t get enough. Here is Clyde buried in sand, looking happy. Here Clyde is playing and running around crazy because “somebody got a bone.” Here Clyde is wearing his own custom Clyde socks, looking like his world is about to collapse. Clyde scrambling; Clyde singing the blues. Clyde rolling over. In a subsequent video, Clyde forgetting how to roll over or should I say, being stubborn and not wanting to. Looking at his mom, like mom, come on, you’re really going to make me do this?

Clyde is just busy being Clyde. He likes all those bully dog things, knows how to sit, stay, leave it, and kiss on command, but knows how to love unconditionally the best.

Clyde and his owners are busy busy. While they do love partnering with wonderful brands, and working on their chain business, Clyde will also be bringing his joy to hospital patients, and anyone in need of a good laugh.

Kiss me – smooch. Good boy, Clyde!
