Sundance Film Festival always provides endless opportunities for brands to connect with today’s top film stars. One corporation with a fantastic Sundance 2019 brand marketing strategy was AT&T, as they hosted their VIP, must-attend DIRECTV Lodge on Main Street. This VIP activation hosted film parties for top Sundance films, with A-list attendees like Julianne Moore, Michelle Williams, Mindy Kaling, and Jada Pinkett Smith!
This year, AT&T returned as the official Multichannel Video Programming Distributor sponsor of Sundance. The 2019 DIRECTV Lodge presented by AT&T was the perfect hotspot for filmmakers, stars, and influencers to connect and celebrate all things Sundance. Special highlights included a daily lounge, a pop-up experience with Italian eats from Jon & Vinny’s, a Variety Studio that featured interviews with celebrities, and parties for top Sundance films like The Farewell, Honey Boy, Hala, and Big Time Adolescence.
The celebrity sightings were endless throughout the duration of the DIRECTV Lodge. Stars like Gerard Butler and Walter Goggins were seen at the Them That Follow party. Zach Galifianakis, Jesse Williams, and Naomi Watt made appearances at the Jon & Vinny’s pop up. Awkwafina and Malin Akerman were also VIP guests at parties for their Sundance films. The Variety Studio presented by AT&T also hosted many big name stars, including Vince Vaughn, Demi Moore, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Mindy Kaling.
The DIRECTV Lodge was a fun way for Sundance film stars and tastemakers to connect, network, and discuss their current film projects. Attendees could also indulge in tasty cookies from Milk Bar and beverages when they needed to relax amidst the hustle and bustle of Sundance. The Lodge helped DIRECTV and AT&T tie their brands to the eminence of Sundance while bringing the festival’s top stars and influencers together.
