The massive, unwavering success of The Walking Dead proves that the public interest in zombies is here to stay. The consumer interest in post-apocalyptic undead takeovers is so high, that zombie invasion themed bar crawls have even exploded in popularity over the years. One such bar crawl took place over the weekend that is truly unrivaled in size and excitement: the world record-setting Zombie Pub Crawl in downtown Minneapolis. Featuring over twenty thousand attendees and extraordinary music acts, it was a sensational event that no Minnesotans wanted to miss.
Calling the pub crawl “impressive” would be a grotesque understatement. Inside the wristband area, throngs of bloodthirsty zombies indulged in zombie-fied “Brain Belt” beer at the beer tents and swarmed the main “A” stage for riveting performances by Rae Sremmurd, ILoveMakonnen, and more. The zombies also went crazy for Smash Mouth at Stage “B” and Andrew W.K. at Mill City Nights. After these shows, thousands upon thousands of undead flocked to downtown establishments like Brother’s Bar & Grill (which put on an exciting Karaoke of the Dead), Sneaky Pete’s, AQUA, and The Fine Line.
Outside of the wristband area was just as exciting as the inside. At First Avenue, zombies raved over top Minneapolis local DJ Dan Berube‘s electrifying set and then jumped up and down in excitement to Ja Rule and his many top-rated throwbacks. At Skyway Theater, the giant zombie masses went nuts to bass-heavy sets by Dubstep phenomenon Zomboy and Antiserum. Other Minneapolis staple establishments like Gluek’s, The Pourhouse, 7th Street Entry, and Kieran’s also put on exhilarating shows and entertainment for the zombie crowds. There was even a Zombie Pub Crawl Costume Contest and a Carnage Carnival (with aerial arts).
Zombie Pub Crawl 2016 was a ghoulishly good way for all of the event’s sponsors to capitalize on the spooktacular spirit of Halloween spirit and market themselves to innumerable potential consumers. RAGSTOCK received an influx of profits from pub-crawlers picking up their tickets in their stores and then deciding to shop for costume essentials (with a special discount). Alcohol labels like Mike’s Harder spirits, Jose Cuervo, The Kraken® Black Spiced Rum, Bushmills whiskey, and ThreeOlives were also able to reach crowds of consumers and possibly grow their fan followings.
In all, Zombie pub crawl was the perfect way for brands, local music acts, and national, critically-acclaimed artists to connect with a multitude of Twin Cities consumers. If you own a Minnesota-based lifestyle startup and want to grow your customer following during Halloween season and beyond, definitely sponsor next year’s Zombie Pub Crawl. It will help you generate further brand awareness in the competitive Twin Cities market and will bring your company to a whole new level of success.
