How you stay in touch with your clients is a great part of your success or failure. In the world that we live in, there are so many ways to stay connected, through electronic means. The goal, though, is not to become invasive, yet stay sufficiently visible so that they think of you, the next time they need a product or a service like the ones you provide. Here are a few tips on keeping great relationships with your clients, online.

Be Interested in Them Through Social Media

When you acquire a new client, you should learn more about them, immediately. To do so, the best solution is to look them up on social media. They may not all be there, but chances are that you will find them on at least one of the various apps. Start with LinkedIn. Since this is a business app, it will make it easier to ask to connect with them, as it keeps the contact professional. The second one to think of is Facebook. Although a little less professional, it is still closer to work, as many companies now only have a Facebook page to represent them. This app will also tell you when they are having their birthday, which is perfect for a quick reminder. If you see that you have missed the date by a few days, you can always use one of these lines for belated birthday wishes.

Instagram is the most used social media online. It is also the perfect tool to learn more about your clients, as they post pics and videos of what they are doing, what they like, etc. This is the perfect place to show that you are interested in them by placing a “Like,” every once in a while, on their post. You should also take the time to make a nice comment, when it makes sense. Never become too friendly, though, since your relationship is professional. As for TikTok, it is best to stay away from it. This social media app is definitely personal and is usually meant for friends.

Personalize Your E-mail Campaigns

If you have thousands of clients, chances are that you are using a CRM, accompanied by some kind of AI program that will personalize the e-mail campaigns automatically, according to the customers information inside the database. If that is not the case in your company, you need to ask the CFO to acquire the necessary software immediately, if you don’t want your work to be lost, in the long run.

If you handle a small number of clients (less than 300), then you need to customize your e-mail campaigns for each and every one of them. The first thing you will do is to prepare a general mail. That will be the base of the message that you will be sending out. It should touch upon one product or service only. You can then send 10 mails per day, pasting this message into the e-mail, while adding one sentence at the beginning with their name and something that relates only to that person. For example, you could say: “We will be receiving the new model of the product you usually buy later this month. Let me know if you need more info.” Or something more personal like: “I see that your birthday is coming up this month, so let me wish you a happy birthday before everyone.” This will be a difference maker between keeping a good contact and bothering the client.

Send Out Information That They May Be Interested In

Keeping informed is an important part of the life of a salesperson. You should read as many articles as you can, on any subject that is slightly related to your business or the ones of your clients. You will come across fresh information that may be interesting for one of them as it will affect his company in one way or another. You need to copy the link of the article and send it to him through e-mail. Of course, if there is information about your company that would be of special interest, you need to do the same with it.

Offer Them More Ways to Get in Touch with You

E-mails are not what they used to be anymore, at least in terms of daily communication. You never know when or if the person will see them (it may end-up in their junk mail), and the moment the communication needs to take place may pass. This means that you have just lost a sale. That is why clients need to have other ways to contact you. WhatsApp is a good example. It is immediate, so that you can reply to their request right away. Since it is directly connected to your phone number, it also means that they can call, if they want to. And because it goes through the internet, they won’t have to pay long-distance fees, if they apply.
