Mona Lisa Ondevilla had always dreamt of becoming a writer. Growing up in a large, immigrant Filipino family in the San Francisco Bay Area had instilled hard-working values on her at a very early age. After graduating from UC Davis with a degree in Communication (emphasis in Interpersonal Communication), she moved to New York to pursue a career as a magazine writer. She quickly landed internships at the top outlets she had always admired, but something did not feel right in her gut.
“A friend told me about this self-help expert, Gabby Bernstein, so I signed up for her group coaching course in the Lower East Side. It changed my life — I realized, I wanted to pursue a career that felt more meaningful to me,” explains Ondevilla. “ I had no idea what that meant, so after being in New York for only 6 months — and on the fast track to dream career success — I took a leap of faith and moved back home to California.”
After extensive self-exploration, self-development and work, Ondevilla threw herself into building her own coaching business, geared towards introverted empath women and lightworkers. She educated herself on everything internet marketing, funnels, and online business, a newly discovered passion of hers.
“I eventually developed my own strategy that worked for ME — a woman who would much rather stay at home than network, loves to take a tremendous amount of time off (for my period, for summer break, for winter hibernation… ), loves unplugging, and loves to travel and explore the world with her hubby,” she says.
“What I realized was that I, myself, am an introvert. I am different — highly sensitive, intuitive and connected to the Universe, and that there are limited support systems for other women like me. Knowing these things about myself and the way I orient to the world helped me really accept and love myself, instead of trying to stuff myself in the box of ‘how I should be,’” says Ondevilla. “I knew I had found my calling, to coach other introverts — to guide them, and show them that it is possible to have both a business and lifestyle that feels rewarding and successful.”
Today, she proudly runs an internationally-acclaimed, six-figure coaching business from her home in California. She typically works with other life coaches, wellness coaches, yoga instructors, nutritionists, therapists, and holistic health coaches, to name a few.
Ondevilla’s programs touch on everything from using your intuition, to ads, newsletters, ideal client research, branding, signature programs, funnels, social media planning, generating passive and automated income, and more.
Ondevilla also prides herself on the beautiful community she has developed through her coaching work. Craving even more connection, she created the Love, Light and Business Podcast, which she hosts, which allows her to have one-on-one conversations with her community. She brings on experts that provide invaluable insight on their businesses and strategies, and also records solo episodes where she shares deeply personal experiences such as her battle with anxiety and past financial struggles.
“My clients have grown so much and I am so proud of the work they put in to pursue their dreams,” says Ondevilla. “When I first start working with them, they are unsure about how to show up online and market themselves and their services. They tend to be the ones people go to to tell their life stories, they give great advice, and have gone through something transformational themselves. They feel overwhelmed by all of the information out there, and don’t have a strategy that feels right to them. They emerge from our time together with confidence on who they are, who they serve, and how to create a thriving online coaching business.”
