Designer Taylor Miller discovered her love for jewelry design at the age of nine, when she began developing her own style by repurposing her grandmother’s costume jewelry as new creations. Shortly after, she began designing and executing her own pieces, and six months later, held her first trunk show. The trunk show’s success, coupled with Taylor’s drive, passion and $50 of Christmas money, inspired her to start her own jewelry line in 2002.
The line, known as Hazen Jewelry, features playful-yet-tasteful earrings, bracelets, and necklaces that showcase the organic beauty of the natural materials used while embodying the creative spirit of the customers who enjoy them. Although Taylor no longer creates each collection by hand on her bedroom floor, she continues to oversee the creative direction and material selection of each piece.
“Each piece is designed and created with the elegant and feminine woman in mind”, says Taylor. “Whether worn with jeans or a little black dress, Hazen Jewelry finishes every outfit with its ease of wear and fashionable presence.”
Since 2002, the brand has grown to become one of the most popular choices for jewelry of its kind. Hazen Jewelry is currently sold in approximately 150 stores across the United States, and in the Fall of 2016, the brand opened up their first brick-and-mortar store in Dallas, Texas.
Located at 6445 Cedar Springs (Suite 203), the 1,200 square foot showroom, which is also home to Hazen headquarters, is open for customers to shop the pieces in person with assistance on styling from a skilled member of Taylor’s team. In addition to six shelves displaying Hazen Jewelry, there is a section of “Taylor’s Favorite Things”, where she can support fellow entrepreneurs by selling products created by inspiring makers that she has met throughout her journey. From comfortable furniture to a bar cart occasionally serving happy hour champagne, Taylor designed the space with the goal of making every customer feel at home when stepping in the door.
