A Bit About Miyume’s Career History
Prior to opening her own group practice in 2015, she worked for a number of organizations in a variety of settings including group homes, schools, tutoring programs, community programs, psychiatric hospitals, dialysis centers, and maternity homes. Thus, she has over thirteen years of experience in providing quality mental health services to people looking for expert counseling.
What Inspired Miyume to Start Her Own Business in Therapy?
According to Miyume, having her own private practice has been a dream of her since she was in undergraduate school. She always had a desire to help others. Her previous experience working with several organizations also inspired her. Miyume said, “Some of the organizations I’ve worked with seemed to have a lot of “red tape” involved and made it difficult to provide quality services due to the enormous amount of paperwork involved or the politics of how the organization was run.” So she decided to develop a place where clients could come and feel comfortable and safe. She added, “Starting my own group practice allowed me the opportunity to implement unique approaches to therapy and create a practice of clinicians that all have a strong desire for promoting mental health and also enjoy creating unique approaches to addressing client needs.”

In addition to her private practice, she also launched her own internet talk radio show entitled “Epiphany with Miyume” which airs to over 100,000 listeners on Accelerated Radio every Saturday morning. Miyume developed this show in an effort to promote the importance of mental health and help people overcome the challenges they face in their daily lives.
