Jurbid, an online legal marketplace, announces the launch of its platform. As a Public Benefit Corporation, Jurbid aims to tackle the so-called “Access to Justice Gap” in the United States. According to the American Bar Association 80% of legal needs are unmet and the United States ranks last among developed nations in providing its citizens’ access to lawyers.  Jurbid’s mission to address this gap is a core component of the company’s identity.

To reduce the gap, Americans looking for legal help can hire a lawyer in three simple steps. First, they post their case on Jurbid’s intuitive and secure platform for free. Second, they receive and review proposals that include the price of representation from a number of qualified lawyers. All lawyers on its platform passed Jurbid’s rigorous professional background screening. Lastly, they hire the lawyer of their choice, the one who fits their needs. The three-step process streamlines the search for a lawyer, provides transparency, introduces competition, and also reduces the intimidation factor of reaching out to lawyers.

“We started Jurbid not to exploit a market opportunity but rather to fix a social issue,” said Aydin Bonabi, the Chief Executive Officer and Founder. “Too many Americans live under the specter of losing money, their homes, and even their children, all because they lack awareness of their rights and access to legal representation. Jurbid will relentlessly raise awareness about certain issues affecting Americans and will ensure everyone has access to a lawyer, is represented, and is effectively heard in a Court of Law.”

As part of the launch, Jurbid offers its services in New York and Florida.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Jurbid

Aydin Bonabi is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Jurbid, an innovative online legal marketplace based in New York and Florida. Jurbid plans to expand and offer its services nationwide.

Bringing years of experience in the legal and finance industry, the visionary entrepreneur has made it his mission to ensure everyone irrespective of race, gender or socioeconomic status has equal access to lawyers.  The company’s mission statement of making legal services universally accessible, transparent and affordable for all reflects this cause.

Mr. Bonabi conceived the idea after graduating law school when he recognized the great disparity in the legal market. Most of his peers were unemployed while most of his friends and family were struggling to find affordable lawyers. The simple solution was to seamlessly connect these two groups who are desperate to find each other.

Consistent with his passion to serve for the most neglected in our community, prior to launching Jurbid in 2015, Mr. Bonabi served as Chief Strategy Officer and Legal Counsel at EssenMED House Calls, New York’s largest in-home medical care program for elderly and disabled individuals who otherwise cannot receive medical care outside of their homes. During his short tenure, the company increased its panel of patients by 40% through his relentless work to form strategic partnerships with other organizations.

Before EssenMed House Calls, Mr. Bonabi was Regulatory Counsel at Forex Capital Markets (“FXCM”), a publicly traded online foreign exchange broker, where he was responsible for overseeing the firm’s regulatory matters. While at FXCM, Mr. Bonabi provided legal advice on a number of acquisitions, served as the legal counterpart for all strategic business initiatives and provided legal support to foreign entities. During law school, Mr. Bonabi also had the great honor of interning for the Delaware and Florida Supreme Courts.

In addition to his professional experience, Mr. Bonabi never ceased to serve the community. He often times takes on pro bono cases and has recently been appointed to a leadership position with the American Bar Association. He also serves on the New York Bar Association’s Access to Justice Committee where he will work alongside peers to try to make legal services more accessible.

Mr. Bonabi holds a Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law and earned his Bachelor’s degree with honors in International Business as well as a Masters of Science in Finance from Florida International University.
