Life isn’t a bed of roses. This is especially true for those who choose to move out of their comfort zone and live for their passions; they’d rather make a living from their passions. My journey began as a computer science lecturer in college, where I realized my passion for teaching and words. This insight helped me later in my career when I decided to take the leap of conducting blogging workshops. After my short stint of working as a lecturer, there came the next big career change where I jumped into a completely new unknown horizon. The vast expanse of blogging and freelancing caught my attention. Besides the knowledge that I possessed in the area of computer applications, the flair for writing made it a lot easier for me to learn the nitty-gritty of social media marketing and the digital world.

A huge leap and a feather in the cap was when my education portal www.mystudydestination.com was felicitated the Indi blogger 2017 Award in the category of education. Through this portal, I have taken on answering questions related to education and career via various posts in the name of ‘Career Coach’.

Another accolade worth celebrating came up my way when I managed to launch the home portal www.digitalkangaroos.com. Launched recently, this portal is on its way to gain nationwide recognition. Through this portal, I have been specializing in social media marketing, profile maintenance and content creation curated according to client needs and demands.

These portals are surely a reward for my hard work and perseverance. There have been days when all I wanted was to shut off everything and just sit back. But it is the recognition for absolute quality work and the fame that my diligence brings on that keeps me going each time I decide to step back.

About the pace of the journey

It wasn’t any bit easy attaining the success and accolades. The uphill battle consisted of hard labor, dealing with people, things going both ways right as well as wrong; I had to face it all each day. ‘Good and not-so-good’ come in a package. So am I evolving each day dealing with insurmountable pressures and struggles, family responsibilities and a five-year-old little munchkin who needs her ‘mama-time’ without any excuse?

‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’ is a quote that summarizes my life.

How to balance and emerge as a winner?

Continuing on with positivity while retaining your sanity is the key. Balancing the professional and personal life and doing justice to each bit is the most important ingredient for happiness. I never give my yoga class a miss. Apart from this, a fixed playtime is mandatory to spend quality time with my daughter. All this and an unbiased focus on my projects have helped me achieve a balance in all the roles. You have to stay true to your goals and follow your heart’s calling. In my case, I turned my passion into a profession and that is what makes my work interesting and motivates me to continue moving on the chosen path despite all the odds.
