What is your professional experience?

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have over 10 years working as a Counselor and in the mental health field. I also own and operate wellnessirl.com. This platform works to improve the wellness tech industry and allow mental health and wellness professionals to hold and/or attend wellness events and network with other industry professionals.

When did you pursue a PhD program? What is the specialty?

I pursued a PhD back in the early 2000. I wanted to learn more about people and how I could help them reach their full potential. My speciality is working with people who experience trauma.

What is your best piece of advice for aspiring entrepreneurs?

The best piece of advice that I have for aspiring entrepreneurs is to stay positive and never give up on whatever it is you want to overcome.

What has been the most effective way to building brand awareness?

It’s been an interesting process but I would have to say that connecting with people interested in technology has been the best way to build brand awareness.

How did you come up with the Wellness in Real Life concept?

I have been a healthcare and mental health provider and was experiencing burnout fast; I knew others were too so that’s how I came up with the concept for Wellness in Real Life.

What are your plans for the next six months?

I have many plans for the next six months, but my largest is to meet with anyone in the tech industry to attend anything related to tech to expand Wellness in Real Life!

What are your top wellness tips for busy entrepreneurs?

In a busy and fast-paced world, it can be hard to set time aside to focus on relaxing. But it needs to be done to ensure that you’re always at your best. If you have a reliable schedule, it might be useful to plan out your week and look for spots to focus on something important to you, such as spending time with family, working on hobbies that aren’t stressful, or just unwinding.

Whatever makes you feel better and escape stress is the right path for you. So, find what works and stick with it. Over time, you’ll find that you’re becoming a healthier, happier, and better provider, family member, and friend.

As a busy mom and entrepreneur, how do you balance work with life and what is your advice for others?

Be productive enough at work. If you want to be able to focus on home when you are at home, make sure you focus on work when you are at work.

Practicing self-care helps a lot! Find some healthy things that make you feel good and make sure to take time doing them every week.

Adjust your work load. When I begin struggling, that means that something needs to change to make expectations more reasonable.

How do you stay focused to get all of the items checked off on your to-do list?

My list is always prioritized. But here’s a secret — there’s something always left on the list. Haha!

What is your favorite business quote?

My favorite business quote is to “do one thing every day that scares you.” This helps push us out of our comfort zone.
