The First and Only Hatchet Throwing Facility in the U.S.

Stumpys 3

When Mark and Trish Oliphant and Stuart and Kelly Josberger got together on a summer night, they had no idea that in nine months they would have an innovative business that would attract people of all ages, Stumpy’s Hatchet House. This unique venue features eight throwing pits that accompanies up to eight people for a hatchet throwing “throw down.” The sport of hatchet throwing is a back to basics form of recreation, bringing together friends for a primitive and organic experience.

Stumpys 2 (1)Stumpy’s Hatchet House experience begins with a brief training session with a throwing coach on safety and procedure, then participants are led into the rustic outdoor-like setting of the hatchet throwing pits, complete with a 15-foot pine tree, skylights and tall timbers.

In the safe, controlled throwing pit, customers take turns hurling their hatchet to the target, honing in on their form and technique. When not throwing, friends gather in the common area at large farm tables and comfy couches. While you are welcome to order food in and BYOB, snacks, beverages and ice are available for purchase.

Owners wanted their venue to provide more than just hatchet throwing. In the “Wood Shed” party room, a live edge counter is utilized for buffets and an extra-long farm table provides seating for a large group. Owners are ready to assist to make any event successful with catering packages to meet your needs and compliment your party theme. Stumpy’s host numerous types of events, whether it’s a business meeting/corporate outing or a bachelor, bachelorette, birthday, or divorce/break up party, the private party room and the unique venue provides a matchless setting for any type of celebration.
