Even if you love what you’re doing, work can often get really boring. It doesn’t matter what you do for a living; doing the same thing every day can easily get tedious and mundane. This is why companies should always have team building and other activities to shake things up and get employees out of that state of mind. If you happen to run a company, there are a few great ideas that you can implement to make the office more fun, like adding some board games, for example. Everybody loves them, and they are great for socializing and unwinding.

Below are some classic board games that every office should have.

Survive: Escape from Atlantis!

There’s nothing like some brutal competition in the lunch break to get employees going and ready for the second part of their shifts, and Survive: Escape from Atlantis is ideal for that. The game revolves around the fall of Atlantis, and the people — the players — have to escape the sinking island before they are soon forgotten alongside that great civilization. Unfortunately, while the synopsis is quite simple, the gameplay is anything but easy. You don’t just need to get off the sinking island. You also have to evade sabotage attempts by other players who want to save themselves, not to mention quite a few sea beasts that are out to get you, including sharks and sea serpents. It’s a fun, unpredictable game where it’s every man for themselves, and your people would love it.

Scrabble

The ultimate office game, Scrabble should be perfect for work environments as it gets people thinking and using their analytical skills while trying to defeat other players. It’s fun, competitive, and quite thought-provoking. It is far from easy, though. As you can see at FastWordUnscrambler.com, you will often need the help of a word unscrambler so you could make sense of the letters you have in hand. It happens way too often that a Scrabble game reaches a dead end because none of the players could form a word out of the tiles they have. This is where the unscramble tool could help you come up with the highest-scoring words and keep the game going.

Pandemic

While not exactly a full out zombie apocalypse, Pandemic is quite an exciting game that would be very fun at an office. Four viruses have broken out around the world, and it is up to the players to work together to discover the cures before they lose and the world faces a global crisis. There are several specialties that players can be, like scientists, researchers, and quarantine specialists. You have to work with your teammates to win this one, which is actually why this game is as successful as it is in office environments, since it helps boost team spirit and encourages employees to work together.

Carcassonne

The great thing about Carcassonne is that it is quite entertaining, but it is also one of the quicker games that won’t take forever to complete. The game takes place in medieval times, and each player controls tiles that work together to create a map of cities with followers — farmers, knights, thieves, and other characters. It is a fun game that is very competitive, and it doesn’t take too long, despite the premise looking complicated.

Dead of Winter

Now, this is a zombie apocalypse game, and it’s a great one. This is basically a strategy game where people live in zombie colonies, and the players have to work together to ensure the survival of the colony members. You move your characters to different locations around the place, finding supplies, weapons, and medicine to help you stop the zombie attacks and fight back. The great thing about this one is that any decision can alter the course of the game, and you will be forced to make difficult decisions while playing, which is why it’s quite fun and interesting.

Escape the Curse of the Temple

You’ve probably guessed it from the name, but this game takes you on an adventure in an Indiana-Jones-like world, where you have to escape traps and evade all the troubles thrown your way. You work with your friends as you all try to escape the temple in one piece. It is a very entertaining game that you won’t be able to get enough of.

Board games are perfect for office spaces, and they could liven things up more than you’d think. People love to unwind whenever possible, and a regular lunch break with just food means they’ll probably nap once back at their desks. This is why you need to get creative. Just bring a couple of these to the office and watch how they affect productivity.
