Over Memorial Day Weekend, major cities throughout America were filled with fantastic celebrations that brought communities of like-minded people together. One major event was Soundset Music Festival 2019, which took place at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in St. Paul on Sunday. Presented by Rhymesayers Entertainment, this must-experience hip hop music festival attracted thousands of locals and featured many exceptional headliners.
From the easy-to-maneuver festival grounds setup to its lineup of first-rate performers and exciting brand activations, Soundset 2019 was a truly outstanding experience. At the Minneapolis Stage, attendees were treated to sets by DMX and popular local Twin Cities artists like deM atlaS and Prof. Later in the day, the crowd went gaga over G-Eazy and Lil Wayne (who performed his major hits like “John” and “6 Foot 7 Foot”).
The St. Paul Stage (which was directly adjacent to the Minneapolis Stage) also featured many incredible artists. Earlier in the day, Doja Cat dominated the stage and performed her major hits like “Tia Tamara”. Trippie Redd then stole the show and sang his heart out to the massive crowd. Run the Jewels also put on a superb performance and SZA later blew everyone away with her extraordinary set. Music lovers everywhere were seen singing along to all her top hits, such as “Love Galore”, “Broken Clocks”, and “Supermodel”.
At the Atmosphere & Friends Stage, music lovers had a blast rocking out to marvelous performances by Tech N9ne, Dessa (a popular local artist) and Black Star (Yasiin Bey and Talib Kweli). The stage also featured sets by Tierra Whack and YBN Cordae (known for his hit song “Have Mercy”). Atmosphere (a renowned Twin Cities rap duo) later shut down the stage and put on a phenomenal show for the admiring crowd of fans.
In addition to the many top-notch headliners, Soundset 2019 also had a roster of fantastic brands in attendance. Monster Energy put on an engaging activation that gave attendees the chance to sample their tasty drinks. VIP attendees also enjoyed checking out Tito’s Vodka‘s exciting branded airstream trailer and eye-catching swag. There was also a fun and engaging booth for X Games (taking place soon in Minneapolis), as well as a live art installation by Ironlak and a skatepark hosted by Familia Skateshop.
At the event, festival-goers also interacted with Metro Transit, Radisson Red Hotels, Fifth Element (a popular clothing store in Uptown Minneapolis), and local Twin Cities radio stations Go 95.3 Modern Hip-Hop and 89.3 The Current. Throughout the day, attendees were also seen sipping on tasty beer from Bud Light, Fair State Brewing Company, and Modelo, ciders from Minneapolis’s Sociable Cider Werks, and Drake’s organic spirits. Music lovers also stayed hydrated with refreshing Sparkling Ice.
Soundset Music Festival 2019 provided the perfect space for Twin Cities locals to come together for a beautiful day of tremendous hip hop talent. Both local and nationally recognized brands were also able to promote themselves to countless consumers walking by throughout the day. In all, the festival was a wonderful experience that helped to amplify the Twin Cities music scene, connect the local community, and provide invaluable marketing opportunities for all of the attending sponsors.
