Sound In Motion’s Packed Deadmau5 Show Highlights the Benefit of Strategic Event Marketing

Deadmau5 performs in front of thousands of EDM enthusiasts at The Armory in Minneapolis.

To put on a successful concert, it is pertinent to strategize how it will be promoted to the public. This is even more true for events featuring world-renowned DJs at massive venues. Just last weekend, top Twin Cities EDM events production company Sound In Motion brought Deadmau5 (and a packed house) to Minneapolis’s huge new venue, The Armory. The show’s giant audience shed light on the monumental value of pre-event promotions.

The show featured production elements like a dazzling light display.

Nowadays, most people find out about entertainment events via social media. Sound In Motion capitalized on this fact and did an outstanding job of marketing the Deadmau5 show for months leading up to the event on all of their social media platforms. They first announced the show in May with a ticket giveaway on Facebook, which resulted in a lot of engagement, as well as with posts on Twitter and Instagram. They then consistently posted about the event all summer and even highlighted Deadmau5’s glorious DJ booth cube.

Sound In Motion highlighted Deadmau5’s light-up DJ booth cube in the social media promotion leading up to the event.

All of the pre-event promotion helped drive word-of-mouth buzz throughout Sound In Motion’s active social media networks, and the actual show was an enormous success. Deadmau5 opened his set with a mesmerizing display of lasers and a build-up that left the crowd awestruck. Then Deadmau5 dropped the first beats and treated everyone to a superb set filled with many of his top hits, including “Ghosts N Stuff” and “Cthulhu Sleeps”. The entire crowd was seen jumping up and down and dancing until the very end.

The production for the event featured an electrifying laser show and other superb production elements.

Like all of their past events, Sound In Motion’s Deadmau5 show brought the Twin Cities EDM community together for an incredible night of music. To ensure the fun doesn’t stop once summer ends, Sound In Motion also has other must-attend shows lined up throughout fall: Virtual Self at The Armory on Sept. 8th, Infected Mushroom at Skyway Theatre on Oct. 19th, and REZZ at The Armory on Oct. 31st. EDM lifestyle companies should consider sponsoring these events to grow their brand awareness in the Twin Cities market.
