Retirement is something we are all going to experience at some point in our lives. But most people would rather not think about it, because it is in our nature to handle things that are present and imminent rather than things that are not pressing or are still very far into the future.
But retirement should be something that we all think about and not dread, as it is a very important stage of our lives, and can’t be avoided.
Every country has a specific age for retirement, and most of the time, it usually falls within the ages of 55 to 70. This is why it is usually not seen as a pressing priority, as we tend to view retirement as something we will do when we start getting old.
The majority of people, when planning for retirement, plan financially — in terms of collecting equity release for retirement, making arrangements on where they are going to live, and countries of interest. But one major area they usually fail to give consideration to is: what they are going to do with all that free time.
It is paramount that when making retirement plans, we endeavor to think long and hard about what types of activities we would like to pursue. Whether it’s volunteering at food banks or launching a business based on a passion, there are many avenues to take with the freed-up schedule.
