There’s no doubt that OK! Magazine puts on the most buzzworthy soirees during red carpet season. On Wednesday, OK! (the magazine all the stars trust) threw an invite-only 2017 Pre-Oscar Party at Nightingale Plaza in Los Angeles. The opulent fête gave A-listers like Mario Lopez and Real Housewives of Atlanta stars Kenya Moore and Kandi Burruss a sophisticated space to network and celebrate the 89th Academy Awards in posh fashion.
Lifestyle brands always race to secure coveted endorsement spots at OK! Magazine’s parties, as they provide invaluable influencer marketing opportunities. At these events, brands are able to connect with swarms of stars and get excellent publicity for their new launches. At the Pre-Oscar Party, celebrities got to check out Hydroxycut‘s new weight loss supplements, top picks from Kmart, stunning Le Vian jewelry pieces, and top-rated hair essentials by Sexy Hair.
While rocking out to tunes by Chelsea Leyland, all of the celebrities in attendance also enjoyed munching on chewy caramel and chocolate hazelnut candies by Toffifay.
On the red carpet, Home Business Magazine had the opportunity to chat with Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss and other big name guests. Kandi was happy to share what she wanted to do the most at the 2017 OK! Pre-Oscar Party.
“I want to party! (laughs) I want to just hang out,” she said.
And did she have any top picks for the Oscars?
“Not really, every year I’m always super excited to see who is going to win. That’s the main thing… I don’t have any specific movie or actor I’m rooting for this year,” she said.
She went on to share insight on a new project she’s been working on.
“I just did a song with my daughter, Riley, called ‘Better Late Than Never.’ She just released it and I’m super excited for her. She is just starting out like how I started out with the group, Xscape, years ago as a teenager. Now she is a teenager doing her thing and I’m really happy about that,” Kandi said.
Dr. Brian Boxer Wachler, a.k.a. America’s TV Eye Doctor, shared what he looked forward to doing at OK! Magazine’s celebration.
“I am here with my wife, and we’re really excited to have fun, hang out with friends, meet new people, and soak it all in,” the highly sought-after eye surgeon said.
He went on to discuss his upcoming business endeavors.
“I have a book coming out in the fall that I just submitted to my publisher last week,” he shared. “It is called Perceptual Intelligence and is all about how we see the world and filter. It explains why some people might see the Virgin Mary in a grilled cheese sandwich or why people might watch the same debate and have totally different impressions than someone else. Basically, it is how we separate reality from fantasy. The expected release date is October 2nd.”
Dr. Brian Boxer Wachler also shared his top tips for anyone who wants to become a doctor of any kind.
“I think that if it is your passion to help people, then you are going to be in the right field,” he said. “That is what it comes down to. That is why I feel like I am here–to help people and be a doer of good. I couldn’t see myself doing anything else.”
Kandi’s Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star, Kenya Moore, also stopped by to chat with Home Business Magazine about what she planned to do at the OK! Magazine party.
“I am excited to have a drink. I had a rough week, so a drink would be nice at this point,” Kenya said.
She went on to share her top picks for the Oscars.
“La La Land, Fences… I have a lot of favorites,” Kenya said.
And what is the TV personality currently working on?
“I am launching Kenya Moore haircare in retail stores! We struck a deal with Sally Beauty Supply, so that will be launching in April,” she shared.
Mario Lopez also stopped by on the red carpet to chat with Home Business Magazine about his Oscar Week experience. The TV personality was happy to chat about whether he had any top picks for the Academy Awards:
“As the host of an entertainment show, I’m supposed to be subjective. (laughs) It’s a nice, diverse group, and there are a lot of sad films but great performances. There are also a lot of new names and faces we haven’t seen, which is always exciting,” Mario said.
The talented actor also gave a quick overview on some of the many projects he’s been working on.
“I got my show Extra, and I have a new CBS show, a game show that I will be able to talk about soon. I feel very blessed and I also have a YouTube channel with the family so I am doing all of that.”
Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval also stopped by to chat about what he was hoping to do at the OK! Magazine party.
“I am excited to hang out with some friends, check out Nightingale, and have a beer!” he said.
He also shared his top picks for the Oscars.
“I have to say that I did love La La Land,” Tom said. “I also heard that White Helmets is nominated and I am so stoked about that. I remember when I watched that documentary that I cried my eyes out. I thought that was the coolest thing. It’s an Indie film that is on Netflix… definitely check it out. It is so moving.”
Vine star Brittany Furlan also chatted about the projects she has been working on lately.
“I am working on a bunch of different things! I am on a new show called Confess on Go90, tat is based off the novel by Colleen Huber. That is very exciting and coming out very soon. I am also working on a feature that i am not allowed to annouce yet, but it will be my first feature that I am starring in.”
She went on to share her top picks for the Oscars.
“There are so many good people! I can’t even choose… I loved Hidden Figures. There were so many great films. I wish the best of luck to everyone. There are so many talented people up this year it’s almost ridiculous. We’ll see what happens!”
She also shared her top tip for getting into the entertainment industry: “Make your own stuff! Don’t wait to be put into a project–make your own things and put yourself out there. It’s not like it used to be; you have to make your own way.”
