Summer music festival season 2019 may be over, but the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota, is definitely keeping things super exciting for local concert lovers. Known as one of the most prestigious, premiere event arenas in Minnesota and beyond, Xcel Energy Center just hosted The Chainsmokers/5 Seconds of Summer/Lennon Stella: World War Joy Tour. The event was a resounding success that attracted thousands of fans!
The Chainsmokers are renowned for putting on electrifying, truly unforgettable shows, and this event was one for the books. The duo played live instruments along to their bass-heavy set that featured many of their most famous hits, such as “Paris”, “Roses”, “Closer”, “Don’t Let Me Down”, and “Something Just Like This”. Attendees were blown away by the outstanding production set-up, first-rate sound quality, and mesmerizing visuals that included lasers, pyrotechnics, and even motorcyclists circling inside a large metal globe!
Before The Chainsmokers took the stage, attendees were also treated to an incredible set by Lennon Stella. The popular pop artist, who collaborated with The Chainsmokers on “Takeaway”, wowed the crowd with her fantastic vocals and performed many of her hit songs, like “Breakaway”. After her awe-inspiring show, 5 Seconds of Summer dominated the stage and got the massive crowd even more amped up. People everywhere were seen happily jumping up and down and singing along to”Young Blood” and their other top hits.
Overall, the event was very well organized and expertly orchestrated. In between performances, attendees also enjoyed grabbing craft beers and cocktails at Xcel Energy Center’s numerous bars, as well as tasty eats at food vendors like Original Hockey Mom Brownies. There was even a special “Happier Hour” at the Michelob Golden Light Fan Zone (located at Gate 4 of the arena) that offered deals on beer and drinks for an hour!
