Brunch has become a marketing powerhouse for our millennial generation. Nowadays, restaurants, pubs, and cafes strive to promote themselves as the top brunch spot for hungover Saturday mornings and Sunday Fundays, and clothing companies continuously launch new apparel to wear for this popular weekend phenomenon. In celebration of everyone’s favorite meal, the first-ever BrunchCon LA brought together 50+ food & drink vendors and brunch fanatics at The Reef in downtown Los Angeles over the weekend. It was a sensational success in regard to consumer reach and generating brand awareness.
BrunchCon LA proved to be a fruitful experiential marketing event for California food startups and cafes, as it gave vendors the opportunity to promote their eats and drinks to hundreds of eager brunch fans. Coffee companies were very popular at the event, with convention attendees swarming the booths for businesses like Knight Owl Coffee, Groundwork Coffee, and Contra Coffee. Black Ring Coffee also wowed everyone with their flavorful, energizing brews. In addition, Coffee Blocks promoted their innovative packets that give you everything you need to make a cup of tantalizing, rich butter coffee.
Everyone also went gaga over Korbel champagne, Ludlow’s Cocktail Co.‘s tasty spirits, and the other delectable breakfast cocktails that were served up by multiple vendors at the lounge. POP Champagne & Dessert bar pampered guests with their mimosas featuring hand-squeezed orange juice and Rebel Coast Winery also stole the show with their tasty array of premium wines.
For those who were hung over from the night before, Magic Bullet provided their revolutionary vitamin-packed Hangover Eraser that helps cure any nausea and side-effects of drinking too much. It’s a true life saver!
The convention also featured numerous cafes and pubs that wanted to bring their savory brunch eats to the forefront. Everyone raved about the Country Ham Croque Madame by Poppy + Rose Los Angeles, which featured a tiny fried quail egg atop delicate toasts. The Grilled Cheese Truck also dished up their mouthwatering sandwiches and attendees adored The Brooklyn Pig, Rice & Shine’s tasty Filipino brunch pop-up, and top picks by The Little Easy Bar brunch spot in Los Angeles (known for their unsurpassable Bourbon Street Breakfast Burrito). Pablito’s Peruvian Kitchen‘s fresh and flavorful Ceviche de Pescado was Home Business Magazine’s favorite brunch pick of the entire convention.
Sweet treats also stole the show at BrunchCon LA. Attendees excitedly flocked to the booths for DK’s Donuts (featuring unique toppings like Snickers and fruity cereal), as well as Crescendo Ice Cream‘s liquid nitrogen-infused ice cream made with exotic flavors like Bailey’s Irish Cream. Gigi’s Bakery, a local Los Angeles favorite, gave guest the chance to sample an array of their succulent Mexican breads and Cuban pastries. Soul Sweet Creations, undoubtedly one of the best booths of the entire convention, wowed all of the attendees with their luscious carrot cakes and remarkably chewy cookies.
Other favorites were Waffling Around‘s Waffle Pops, featuring toppings like S’Mores and sprinkles, as well as wholesome and energizing juices from Green Grotto Juice Bar. The Lobos Food Truck also featured their signature WACHOS™ waffle fries topped with traditional nacho toppings. The lines were also long for popular picks like Cali Fresh, The Wood comfort food, Free Range LA (featuring delicious fried chicken), Bang Bang Brunch (which hosts a monthly brunch event in different locations all over Los Angeles), and Cabo Chips. AguaVida also kept everyone refreshed with their premium alkaline water.
In addition to all of the spectacular drinks and eats available, attendees also got to relax with cocktails and snacks in the comfortable Hangover Lounge. The convention-goers also enjoyed taking interactive photos, browsing apparel by Born2Brunch and b.Haven Kids, and meeting new people in the Brunch Speed Dating event. Yelp and GrubHub also gave away fun prizes to the attendees and everyone cracked up over the Crassholes balloons that featured hilarious sayings like “Sorry About Your Face”.

Companies were able to market their goods to countless eager consumers and amass even greater loyal followings.
