Steve Aoki “Cakes” Minnesota: Sound in Motion Hosts DJ’s Return

On late nights in the middle of June, all EDM enthusiasts in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota can think about is when the next big show is. Luckily, they don’t need to look too hard, because Sound in Motion has events every weekend to scratch that headbanging itch. As the premier EDM event production company in the Twin Cities, Sound in Motion excels at providing top-notch services relating to the planning, coordination, production, and execution of EDM shows. The biggest EDM artists in the world frequently choose Sound in Motion to host their electrifying shows. Sound in Motion recently hosted Steve Aoki’s return to the Armory in Minneapolis, and it was the biggest event of the Twin Cities summer thus far. Home Business Magazine had the opportunity to attend the long-awaited event, and it was quite a treat to be savored.

Before Steve Aoki could take over the huge venue for the main act, dynamic and exciting headliners took the stage for the opening acts. Cheyenne Giles warmed up the crowd with a set full of headband-worthy drops and rhythmic beats that basically forced the crowd to start moving around and vibe out to the rhythm. Then Pickle took the stage and brought the eager crowd to new levels with his staccato beats, electro house, and unique remixes of iconic songs. Finally, DEORRO kept the crowd heating up with his mainstream favorites, such as “Five More Hours” and “Bailar”. Sound in Motion ensured that each opening act’s distinctive visuals and dynamic lighting seamlessly complimented their individual sounds. The zealous crowd was fully ready for Steve Aoki to come out.

Finally, Steve Aoki took the stage to an energized crowd of roaring fans.  As a long-established monarch of the EDM community, Steve Aoki always creates a unique and invigorating atmosphere at his show that encourages letting go with freedom in movement. His captivating stage presence is infectious and the energy certainly got transferred to the crowd. Concertgoers couldn’t help but jump around and dance like nobody is watching. Steve Aoki’s show combined energizing beats and jump-worthy drops with captivating visuals and colorful lights that were perfectly pulsating to every beat. His stage setup also included a webcam to project his face on the big screen with colorful filters that perfectly blended in with the background visuals. Sound in Motion definitely had a good time producing this show, as Aoki’s exciting dubstep drops were perfectly timed up with his hypnotizing visuals, crisp lasers, and colorful lights that danced around the entire venue. And a Steve Aoki show is never complete without the CAKE THROWING — 10-15 caked are accurately thrown at the eager crowd possessing unique and inviting “Cake Me” signs. All in all, this show was a delectable sight to see and a memorable kickoff to the rest of the exciting shows happening this summer.
