The Gourmesso Coffee Revolution

There can be no denying that caffeine increases productivity and improves focus. Across the world, tea and coffee are the most consumed beverages after water, and it is perhaps no surprise that coffee is America’s favourite way of consuming caffeine.

In turn, this has led to different types of coffee entering the market and different ways to make it. One of the most popular is Nespresso. Nespresso’s coffee machines use capsules to give you the caffeine hit when you need it. There are plenty of flavors to choose from with slightly differing levels of caffeine intensity. It is very convenient and you can have gorgeous coffee within minutes.

This is great if you run your own home-based business. You don’t need to wait ten minutes for coffee to filter through. You can grab your cup and be back to work meeting your deadline. The numerous choice in flavors helps to compliment your mood.

The downside with Nespresso is that the capsules are arguably expensive and not the most environmentally sound choice. The environmental issue became so profound that former Nespresso CEO, Jean-Paul Gaillard, described it as an environmental disaster in 2013. Later, Gaillard would set up ‘The Ethical Coffee’ company.

This resulted in billions of these capsules ending up in landfills. Nespresso’s aluminium-made capsules were believed to take 500 years to biodegrade.

It is fair to say that few business owners want to see the end of the world. After all, who can make a sale when there are no clients and customers to sell to? We all want a better world for our kids and we want the one we live in right now to be healthy and environmentally sound.

Can We Have Our Capsule Coffee and Drink It Too?

The use of capsules has thrown up some valid environmental questions and many coffee drinkers are in an ethical dilemma. On the one hand, there can be no denying that the taste of capsule coffee is superior to other ways of making coffee. It is faster as well and there is less mess. This makes it perfect for business owners who need coffee to get work done.

There can be no denying, however, that every time one of these capsules gets used, the chances are it is going to a landfill and will sit around for 500 years damaging the environment.

The good news is that since Gaillard’s remarks, a number of coffee capsule producers have emerged that provide more environmentally sound coffee capsules that work with existing coffee machines such as Nespresso and Keurig K-Cup machines.

Capsules such as Gourmesso coffee capsules are much more environmentally sound and a good choice of flavors are available. This gives you the better tasting coffee without the guilt. Gourmesso and other companies that have filled this gap in the coffee capsule market deserve praise. It is good to see some companies trying to be ethical in a world where ethics are becoming last year’s concept. Their prices tend to be cheaper than the bigger brands as well. All in all, this is a win-win scenario.

Depending on the size of your business, you may want to show that you use more environmentally friendly coffee capsules as part of a sustainability plan and as a marketing caveat.

Use Coffee as a Business Tool

To maximize your productivity and take advantage of guilt-free coffee, use caffeine as a business tool. Consider these ideas:

  • Research suggests that if you drink coffee before starting an important piece of work, your focus will be sharper and you will be more engaged with the project.
  • Coffee comes with a crash and many believe that not drinking caffeine 12 hours before you normally sleep is a good habit to get into. Too much caffeine risks ill health in one form or another and you don’t want to go down that rabbit hole.
  • You will find that you have a window where your productivity is at its greatest. This is a good time for you to drink coffee as you will be sharper and geared towards productivity.
  • Avoid sugary and alcoholic caffeinated drinks. These drinks layer the inevitable caffeine crash and bring it on harder and sooner. This effectively hampers your productivity.
  • Finally, if you are traveling overnight, drink a big cup of coffee twelve hours before you are due to leave. You will sleep soundly even on a plane.

The Coffee Revolution Continues

There can be no doubt that coffee is the heartbeat of America’s productivity. You just have to see the queues in coffee shops in the morning to see how much we depend on it.

Now you can enjoy the delights of coffee from home without sacrificing taste or feel bad that the capsule is damaging our world. Hopefully, this will inspire you to be more productive and develop a successful home business.
