4 Steps to Start Your Own Faith-based Business

Faith-based Business

After speaking to several Faith-Based Business Owners who found themselves STUCK…

I decided to share a few important tips about how to make your next move the BEST move ever!

Like most entrepreneurs, I’ve had days where I, too, would agonize over not knowing what my next move was. Had I stayed in that head space, however, I would not be where I am today.

So here are four steps to help you end the “not knowing” so you can get out there to make impact and income!

Step 1: Pray Out Your Discouragement

If God is truly your CEO, then talk to him. You don’t have to beg, just ask him to forgive you for not trusting Him. Give Him your discouragement and anything that might be standing in the way of that initial vision for your life. Remember to repent of worry, stress and all of the I “should’s”.

The word “Should” equates to “shame” in our society. “You should know better” keeps you from co-creating with God. Once you choose to end that cycle of discouragement and trust Him again, you’re on a whole new trajectory. Here are a few more examples of shame:

  • “I should have done that differently.”
  • “I never should have said that.”
  • “Why can’t I make better decisions?”
  • “It my own fault that I’m not where I need to be.”

The more you shame yourself, the more you’ll feel blocked from God. Instead,
PRAISE HIM with a thankful heart! Tell Him how grateful you are for ALL you have and all you’ll be RECEIVING as His FAVOR rains down on you!

Can you feel the difference just reading those words as opposed to the ones above?

Step 2: Create an Impact Form

An “Impact Form” is a sheet of paper with questions for you to answer about your business, questions that help you decide why this project is important to you. What it
would mean to you if you accomplished your goals, what steps you need to take to
accomplish it and so on. As you remember the vision of WHY you’re doing what you’re doing, you’ll find the creative juice begins to flow all over again and so will the steps you need to take to get things accomplished.

Step 3: Align Yourself with Champions

We’re not meant to do life alone. I worked alone for 10 years in my business and I never broke through that ceiling until I found a team of people to help me get there. You don’t have to hire if money is tight, but share what you’re doing so the BEST (volunteers or paid assistants) will join you and help you get the message out.

Step 4: Remember That Money Is Everywhere

Money truly is everywhere in abundance. It’s in our stores, our piggy banks, even on the
street corner and in drain pipes! People throw it away, over spend with it, use it on the
wrong things, you name it and we’ve all done it somewhere along our journey.

When it comes to running a business, why is it easier to believe the lie that there isn’t
enough of it? God never said you couldn’t earn it, invest it or use it as a tool. He merely said don’t love it or trust in it or you’ll begin to long for it the way we are to long for knowing Him.

One more important note about money – you must know how to steward it well. What you’ll do with a little you will also do with a lot. Master your mind so you can master your money.

You are meant to help build the Kingdom of God in the marketplace with your gift. Now go out into the world with it, live in peace and make your impact. You’ll never do it by believing you’re stuck.

  1. I am so thankful, I found this article. Since I was a very young girl, I have had an intimate relationship with Jesus. I was born and raised a devout Catholic. I have suffered many trials and hardships throughout my life which, led me to devoting my life to charity. The word itself is love. I strive daily, from the bottom of my heart, to demonstrate humility and kindness to others, especially those in most need. It is by His grace, I was allowed the sufferings which ultimately transformed my heart. Being a light in the dark and giving to others with true empathy, compassion and love is now engrained upon my soul. I desire to start two businesses, both are in the process of being a reality. I have faced great struggle and endured this journey solely alone, however. This beautiful article is the reminder and message, I needed. Thank you for your faith, love and for inspiring others through your love of God.
