Charly Ligety and Les Starck, Co-Authors of Very Engaging, a playful and romantic conversation guidebook for couples, first met while working together at their day jobs at a bank. Both men were getting familiar with the marriage process- Les was recently married and Charly was getting engaged. On their lunch breaks, the two started bantering about their personal lives as well as different writing ideas and eventually decided to collaborate on creating a couples conversation guidebook, which aims to make talking about usually intimidating conversations (like money, family, and sex) more meaningful and lighthearted.

“The idea for this book first came to fruition when Les and I first started working together. At the time, Les was recently married, and I was just engaged. We were talking about our experiences and discussed what the pre-marital counseling process of truly getting to know your partner and learning about their family was really like. We wanted to find a fun, alternative way for couples to stimulate meaningful conversations with their partners,” said Charly Ligety, Co-Author of Very Engaging.

To get to the heart of big conversation topics, the book has a unique method of ‘gamifying’ deep questions regarding your relationship and personal attributes. Each partner plays through their own copy of Very Engaging, which is formatted into two complimentary books, His + Hers, turning each page together.
