Energy Saving Hacks That Americans Aren’t Using

It’s easy to see your energy bills take a toll when operating your business from a home office. With heating costs in the winter and electricity bills from your A/C unit in the summer, it is increasingly important to save money wherever you can. However, aside from the well-known energy hogs around the house, there are some that you probably aren’t taking advantage of. For instance, did you know that keeping a laser printer on all day—even when it is not printing—can use enough electricity to add up to about $130 over the year.

What is even more surprising is how much Americans don’t take advantage of these easy tricks. SaveOnEnergy took a look at all of the major energy wasters around the home and surveyed people to see how many were utilizing them. Keeping on the printer example, less than 15% of people reported unplugging their printer when it isn’t in use.
