Steve de Mamiel developed a uniquely memorable way of delivering the message of a new approach to sales - and most importantly, making it stick. Steve uses storytelling and metaphors, resulting in the creation of The Mongrel Method. The Method is based on a series of anecdotes about Steve and his mongrel mutt, Samuel, working in cellar sales in some of the most beautiful wineries in Western Australia while Steve was at university. Following Steve's time in wineries, he went on to open a men's tailoring business in Perth Western Australia that took computer-aided design and manufacturing technology (commonly known as CAD/CAM) to make made-to-measure men’s suiting and shirts at half the cost and time as traditional methods. The same production process Steve helped develop is still used today in made-to-measure businesses globally. After 5 successful years, Steve sold the business and went on to join a small Perth-based IT systems integrator. He took that business national in the early 2000s. Steve then went onto roles sales management with Panduit, Wolters Kluwer and Dell EMC where he coached and developed national sales teams and lead Asia Pacific sales with global clients such as HP, Amazon, Google, Microsoft and Facebook. Steve is the dad of 3 great kids (2 are twins); he’s passionate about the outdoors and is an active sailor who gets out on the yacht at least weekly year-round. He gets out to explore the remotest parts of Australia's deserts and bush in his modified 4WD. Steve is passionate about helping individuals and organisations improve their sales and marketing ability. He does this through his coaching and speaking on the massive changes that have only just started for sales and marketing professionals. Today, he focuses on helping organisations, teams and individuals through his work with The Mongrel Method.
