Kathleen Batalden Smith

Kathleen Batalden Smith is the Co-founder and CEO of Smiling Tree Gifts and Smiling Tree Toys. She's passionate about environmental sustainability, and believes businesses can (and should) be both profitable and truly sustainable. Kathleen believes in business transparency, people over profits, unparalleled customer service, and leaving this earth a little greener and healthier than she found it. She operates her business from their red barn woodshop on the Minnesota prairie with her husband Justin, four young kids, two dogs, and too many chickens. When Kathleen isn't brainstorming ways that Smiling Tree can be "even greener," she can be found cooking from scratch, supporting local arts, winning at board games, and enjoying backyard bonfires.
