Sporty yet Chic Motivates Founder of Madcapz

Woman’s Creation Puts a Stylish Twist on the Classic Baseball Cap

By Home Business Magazine.

Carrie Bell founded Madcapz — baseball caps designed just for women.

Carrie Bell founded Madcapz seven years ago when she became sick with Graves’s Disease — and began losing her hair. She wanted a cap to cover her head when she went for walks but was tired of wearing her husband’s sports/corporate logo’d baseball caps. Carrie craved a fun colorful cap to wear that was stylish, comfortable, didn’t scream “sick,” and made her look good.

She always liked the style of ball caps but could not find one that was sporty yet chic. So after searching in vain, she decided to create one — and Madcapz was born!

Today, Madcapz successfully sells online at www.madcapz.net and wholesale across the country to golf retailers, golf pro shops, hospital gift shops, oncology boutiques, wig salons, gift shops, and small retail boutiques.

Madcapz promotion takes several forms. One very effective approach is to partner with nonprofit organizations. Madcapz is a Partner in Action with the HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation and manufactures the HERA Madcapz in their signature color, teal. A portion of each sale is donated to the HERA Foundation. Also, throughout the year Madcapz donates hats to various organizations for their charity walks, tournaments, and events.

Madcapz also takes full advantage of social media to attract new customers. Their Facebook page, (www.facebook.com/madcapzfans) and Twitter account, (www.twitter.com/madcapz) provide ongoing opportunities for Madcapz to publicize special offers, sales, and promotions that are popularized on these social media platforms.

Madcapz is also currently involved with several sponsored contests on radio stations and online sites that offer terrific promotional opportunities.

The typical Madcapz customer is a woman 40+ who is fun, spirited, and loves fashion accessories with color. She may be a golfer, walker, tennis player, or gardener. She is an outdoor enthusiast who knows how to enjoy life.

Madcapz are also popular with women experiencing hair loss due to chemotherapy, alopecia, or other medical conditions. The fun colorful prints allow women to look great and feel fabulous about themselves.

Carrie finds that the biggest advantage of working from home is that it affords greater flexibility in her work schedule. This allows her time for other aspects of her life including cooking, running errands, exercising, etc.

In three years, Carrie envisions the Madcapz brand to be well recognized across the country and worn by women in every state, HBM
